Hi! My name is Carolyn Miller and I’m an Aussie author of Christian historical and contemporary romance. I love travel, music, books, food, art, all of which somehow makes it into my fiction -- strange, that! You can learn more about me and all my books here on my site and on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.

I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen, and I've got numbers of books that pay homage in various ways. My newest release is a contemporary romance that gives an Aussie twist to Jane Austen's Emma—NOT PRECISELY MR KNIGHTLEY.

Here’s what it’s about:

Can the Matchmaker Find True Love?

Emma-Jane (EJ) Bennett and Jordan Knight are longtime best friends who codesigned the immensely successful dating app, Dream Match. Success starts to go to EJ’s head when she gets caught up in the famous and money-hungry social circles and starts dating the son of a TV mogul. But Jordan’s feelings have grown from friendship to more. He determines to protect her by exposing Eric Churchill for the two-timer he is, finally agreeing to attend a function with her at the Sydney Opera House. But his best intentions go awry when EJ is embarrassed and runs for the security of home, small-town roots, and The Silver Teapot Café, feeling like Jane Austen’s chastised Emma—only without her Mr. Knightley...

So if you enjoy Pride and Prejudice, this book (& the rest of The Silver Teapot series) might just be your cup of tea...

Jane Austen in my Fiction

IMG_8988.jpeg

I love a good romance, especially those penned by Jane Austen 200 years ago, with their stories of family, friendships, and love. And with over 4000 titles on Amazon referencing Mr Darcy in their titles, it seems that plenty of others agree.

For my first historical, The Elusive Miss Ellison, I wanted to lean into the Pride and Prejudice vibes, so I created a small English village with Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett-like characters, with wit and banter. Jane Austen's Persuasion was my inspiration for another historical, Winning Miss Winthrop - they even go to Bath, and experience a masquerade ball. Austen fans love them!

I've also written lots of contemporary romances, such as a romcom Daring Mr Darcy, which sets the plot of Pride and Prejudice in small-town USA. And for my new Silver Teapot series, I've created the Bennett sisters and their parents who run a teashop in a small Australian town - which is based on my home town! Each sister has her own Austen-inspired story, such as Olivia in Not Exactly Mr Darcy (inspired by Pride and Prejudice), matchmaker app designer EJ who stars in Not Precisely Mr Knightley (Emma), and Ellie & Katie who feature in Not So Very Sensible (Sense & Sensibility), out later this year. I'm loving that fans love the Austen references - I hope you do too!
